Manners have changed drastically since the 50's

My cousin is at it again!
She definitely knows I love doing research on interesting topics like this. So I did some research on "how manners have changes since the 1950".
I found multiple lists with many different rules but I chose the ones that caught my eye.
One good manner is, when you enter a room you should always address the adults in the room with a hello and good-bye when you leave the room. Now this I can understand because it sounds very polite and now a day when you walk into the room you may be on your phone or just silently slipping in just to watch tv.
Another polite thing to do is ask permission to leave the dining table a supper. This also makes complete sense because you are supposed to eat dinner as a family. Many people in the 1950's wouldn't even bother asking to leave before everybody was done because it was considered impolite.
A third manner that was required was the normal "please" and "thank you". The only rule that has changed about this manner was because if you didn't say these two words, adults would not hold back and talk about how impulsive you were, they would come face to face with you and put you into place.
These rules also apply later than the 1950's. In the 1950's, there were more punishments. You would also see less littering, organized flower and daisy gardens. There were also even more lists from, Who should end an evening date, Male or Female? --To-- How to eat corn on the cob correctly.
The only thing that I noticed here was, did most family's follow these manners? These manners seem like only the wealthy followed really "stressed" them. Just because they had more money so maybe they felt they needed more respect than the poor. I guess I will do more research.
Any questions just let me know in the comments, I will gladly get back to you. If you want me to blog about something just ask and most likely I will make an entry!! I have been promoting my blog more and my views are slowly going up every morning. Thank you for all the support!!!
